This position is responsible for enforcing County zoning ordinances related to state regulations and to issue varied business licenses including occupation tax, alcohol, and adult entertainment licenses. The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Enforces County zoning ordinances; travels throughout the County to visually inspect zoning sites; receives and investigates complaints of potential violations; conducts site reviews and inspections; and documents complaints and findings.
Identifies violations to zoning ordinances; gathers other evidence as appropriate; prepares and issues code violation citations or warnings; identifies necessary corrective action; discusses violations with property owners, business owners, residents, and other interested parties; and issues condemnation papers as necessary.
Prepares documentation for adjudicated cases; consults with County Attorneys on court cases; and testifies in court.
Consults with property owners, business owners, and the general public regarding zoning ordinances; responds to questions, complaints and/or requests for information; and explains and interprets Department policies and procedures, ordinances and Code.
Receives, reviews and processes applications for a variety of business related licenses including occupational tax license, alcohol license, adult entertainment license and adult entertainers license; issues licenses and collects and receipts feels
Performs a variety of administrative duties in support of enforcement work; plans daily site visits; prepares and maintains records; prepares correspondence, memos, production reports and case updates; and maintains records of violations, documentation, and actions taken.
Investigates complaints of dangerous dogs; and initiates appropriate action to quarantine or secure dangerous dogs.
Assists other departments and staff upon request including building inspectors, the Health department, Sheriff’s office, and Fire and Emergency Medical Services departments.
Operates an assigned vehicle, radio, fire arms, and general office equipment in the performance of essential functions; and maintains assigned vehicle and equipment.
Qualifications: High school diploma or GED supplemented by law enforcement and technical training pertaining to County codes and ordinances. The position requires a minimum of three (3) years’ experience interpreting and enforcing County codes and ordinances or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides with requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Applicants must possess and maintain Basic Law Enforcement certification and a valid Georgia driver’s license and must pass a pre-employment drug screen.

This position is responsible for addressing storm water issues within Peach County and ensuring compliance with all related Federal, State, and Local storm water codes, regulations, and NPDES generated Best Management Practices (BMPs). The position will direct and supervise the Storm Water Division of the Public Works Department, provide technical engineering regarding storm water management, and review storm water plans and projects. Develops, maintains, and ensures compliance with the County Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) in accordance with the applicable National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) General Permit

Provides primary technical review and implements the storm water quality and quantity recommendations of the county-wide Watershed Assessment
Develops storm water management ordinances, regulations, codes, and standards to satisfy current local, state, and federal requirements
Maintains a database of Best Management Practices for storm water design and performance
Performs engineering review of development plans for private and public projects
Inspects storm water infrastructure systems on public and private projects
Serves as liaison with the general public regarding inquiries, problems, or complaints
Performs public relations and communications work for the division
Answers questions and provides information and technical assistance to county staff, engineers, contractors, and general public
Tracks private and public project construction to ensure storm water quality and quantity standards
Explains county requirements for storm water infrastructure to contractors, developers, engineers, architects, and land surveyors
Prepares and delivers presentations to citizen committees and associations, Board of Commissioners, Planning Commissions, and federal and state authorities
Supervises, directs, trains, and evaluates assigned staff; processes employee concerns, problems, and disciplinary actions; completes employee performance appraisals.
Prepares a variety of reports, timesheets, and personnel forms
Works with the Public Works Director to ensure equipment and supplies are property maintained and stocked
Assists in developing, administering, and monitoring division budget
Adheres to and ensures division adherence to county Safety Policies and Procedures
Responds to emergency service calls as needed
Operates a personal computer and general office equipment to include the use of word processing, spreadsheet, database, or other system software
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or related field. One (1) year related experience preferred. EIT preferred. One (1) year supervisory experience preferred; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Receives, dates and distributes incoming mail; and prepares outgoing mail.
Receives and processes applications, administrative forms, work orders, registration forms, reservation requests or other documents from customers, applicants, and/or employees; dates and records the receipt of the documents; logs pertinent information; checks records and papers for completion and accuracy; and prepares related correspondence.
Accepts payments for varied fees, including application, registration, rental, or other program fees; prepares receipt; records payment; balances payment records with cash drawer; and prepares deposit slips.
May obtain fingerprints from employees, applicants or other persons in compliance with administrative or program requirements.
Orders office supplies, forms and other materials as needed; contacts vendors to obtain quotes and price lists for supplies; and receives, stores, and delivers documents, office supplies.
Schedules appointments with department staff; and reserves meeting rooms and/or maintains conference room schedules.
Qualifications: High school diploma or GED supplemented by up to two (2) years of moderately complex clerical and administrative support along with being skilled in the use of computers and possessing excellent customer service skill sand experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
