Clean and Beautiful

Keep Peach County Clean and Beautiful (KPCCB) is a nonprofit litter-prevention and beautification program chartered by the Peach County Government. The organization is made up of concerned people from all walks of life joined together to help the public become more aware and concerned about environmental issues.

The mission of Keep Peach County Clean and Beautiful is to protect and improve the environment and the quality of life in our community.

As a local affiliate of Keep America Beautiful, it is a unique public-private partnership that allows us to benefit from the resources of government, corporations and community organizations. KPCCB is also affiliated with the Keep Georgia Beautiful program operated by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs.

KPCCB conducts educational programs on beautification and the reduction of litter and solid waste for schools and local civic groups. The organization also works with the Department of Transportation to secure volunteers for the Adopt-A-Highway Program and the beautification of state highways in Peach County.

In addition to a compost teaching site at the Byron Recycling Center, KPCCB operates two 24/7 recycling centers. The Byron center is located on Jail House Alley and the Fort Valley center is at 508 Old Macon Road. There is also a compost teaching site at the Byron Recycling Center.

The two centers accept newspapers, magazines, white paper, computer paper, paperboard and cardboard. Also accepted are brown, clear and green glass, steel cans, aluminum cans, computers and printers, motor oil and car, truck and lawnmower batteries. Bulk cardboard from local businesses in Byron, Fort Valley and Peach County is also accepted for recycling.

As part of the effort to keep Peach County Clean and Beautiful, the Peach County Public Works Department will pick up limbs four-feet long and shorter as well as bagged leaves and small twigs. The Fort Valley Public Works Department picks up limbs, leaves, and grass clippings. Limbs must be four feet or shorter. The Byron Public Works Department will pick up limbs under 10-feet long only.
