Erosion & Sediment Day, 2009

The annual Peach County Erosion and Sedimentation Day (E&S Day) took place on October 20th with activities taking place at Griffin Technical College and The City of Griffin Test Site. This annual event allows local municipalities, engineers, design professionals and State and Federal Agencies to come together and learn about recent changes in erosion and sedimentation laws and to view new products to help control erosion from construction sites. This year 180 participants attended the event representing 33 private firms, 26 local municipalities, six State agencies, two Federal agencies and 17 different erosion and sedimentation and storm water vendors.

Please contact Peach County Public Works for information.

Stream Cleanup Project

Peach County Storm Water Department would like to thank you for making the 2009 Stream Clean-Up a great success and for all of your patience as we worked to set up an acceptable date following our rain delay. This year we had two different events, the normal annual Storm Water Stream Clean-Up and another in conjunction with the GANO, Sudan Rd., and Sherwood Blvd., One Day Event. Between the two events, we had roughly 20 volunteers.

Thank you again for your hard work and we look forward to seeing you at next year´s Stream Clean-Up which will be held on ___________________ with a rain date of _____________________.

Environmental Hotline

Peach County Storm Water Department has recently set up an Environmental Hotline so the citizens of Peach County will be able to call and report environmental issues. The Hotline should be used to report illegal dumping of materials; watering violations; blowing of grass clippings or leaves into a street, a storm drain, a creek or other similar concerns. The Hotline is a 24 hours a day recording system giving callers the opportunity to stay anonymous or leave their name and telephone number if they wish to be contacted about their reported problem. Peach County would like to ask for the help of all of our citizens in protecting our environment. To report environmental issues, please call (478) 825-8717 or visit the Storm Water Department´s Reporting Problems page at: Reporting Problems
